Do I need a solicitor to make an LPA?
No. Making an LPA is not a reserved legal activity, so anyone can prepare the forms. An LPA prepared without a solicitor is just as valid once registered with the Office of the Public Guardian.
How much does it cost?
Our Done-For-You service is £89 per LPA (£149 for both). The £92 OPG registration fee is separate and paid to the OPG. Doing it yourself is free but carries the rejection risk.
Is an online LPA legally valid?
Yes. An LPA is valid when it is completed and signed correctly and registered with the OPG. It does not matter whether it was prepared online, at home or by a solicitor.
How long does registration take?
The OPG currently takes up to 20 weeks to register an LPA if there are no mistakes. That is why we check the form against the rejection criteria before you sign.
What is the No-Rejection Promise?
A real person checks your LPA against every OPG rejection reason before you sign. If we miss something we checked and the OPG rejects it for that, we correct it and cover the £92 to resubmit.
